Trevor A Bowen

Welcome

I'm a Research Scientist at the University of California, Berkeley Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL). I formerly held a NASA Earth and Space Science Fellowship (NESSF) at SSL and received my PhD in Physics from UC Berkeley in May, 2019.

I'm broadly interested in the development of measurement techniques to study fundamental physics. I've worked extensively with digital signal processing, time series analysis, statistical theory, developing methods for error and noise characterization, and instrument calibration. Much of my research focuses on using such techniques to connect linear and nonlinear processes in space plasma systems.

I co-lead a team that runs the Advancing Space Sciences through Undergraduate Research Experience (ASSURE) REU program  at UC Berkeley's Space Science Laboratory.

The ASSURE program provides research opportunities for  undergraduates attending community colleges and other institutions with limited opportunities for on-campus research. ASSURE focuses on recruiting students traditionally underrepresented in the space sciences, with the aim of improving longstanding inequities in accessing education and research experiences.
